What an amazing experience to share art and life in a creative community. The youth were a highlight - with all their talent, ideas, and potential. Thanks again, Inuvik, for the invitation to show my northern pieces with you.
I love the colours and flow of this forest series, and am always inspired by work in other media.
A shout-out with love forever to Cully and Holly (and Murphy!). Congratulations on their engagement and bright future together.
Congratulations to Billy on the launch of his new Art Prints Publishing House. His first release SOLD OUT in 48 hours! It’s a gift to be working with such a talented and supportive curator - with gratitude for installations of my Maple Grove print all around town.
I’d love everyone to visit my home gallery @ 1536 Venables. Deanna, Rodney, Geoff and Staff have done a beautiful job of featuring new work.
Inspiration for my ‘Solo North Series’ abounded at Crag Lake, Carcross even at - 41 degrees! Cheers to my hardy friends!
What fun we had welcoming neighbours and community to enjoy a cultural day of pottery, jewellery, painting, chit chat, cookies and sunshine.
It was an honour to show the first pieces of my Peak Foliage Series at this celebration, and enjoy wonderful support from my family.
This sun-splashed tent was the heartland of this year's crawl. Thank-you to all the Heartfelt makers who brought their creations and shared their stories. We celebrated wood and wool, bearskin and hide, photography and paint, and more!
It was a great privilege to join the creative crowd in Inuvik again. We worked, danced, shared, and explored with friends old and new.
It was a modest, but still sparkling honour, to receive a request to include my northern “AURORA SERIES” in the national registry of Canadian artists. Photographs, videos, and literature in this comprehensive archive and active library serve art gallery clients and researchers as well as the public.
Thank-you to everyone who celebrated Spring on a drippy March day by joining us amongst the tulips and donating to the Ukrainian Refugee Fund.
I was honoured to receive support from “Funding for the Arts on the North Shore” for my NEEDLEPOINT PROJECT - a personal, multimedia, and renegade series exploring the pain and healing sites in our bodies. More to come!
It was invigorating to discuss passions, aesthetics, and craft with the team of artists selected to jury the ‘plein air’ painting competition, “Paint the Mountain”. We agreed unanimously on the finalists, and were happy to be encouraging the arts in our community.
Thanks to Kiewit Construction, the DeKaye Family and Kim Allan, I had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the beauty of this Montana ranchland as I explored it through acrylic paints.
Kirsty Babcock & Elaine Lau presented glimmering jewels and stunning pottery alongside my paintings @ “The Taj”
I introduced new acrylic painting techniques in rainbow layering, transparency and luminosity. What a wonderful group of inspirational students!
It was my privilege to work with Rodney Clark, Gallery Manager @ the GNAF (Great Northern Arts Festival) in Inuvik, NWT, and attend his well-received presentation about the experience @ Artworks Gallery during the Eastside Art Crawl the following November.
Thank-you, Inuvik! I especially loved working with kids of all ages in the painting workshops and on the community murals.
